Kenai Pennensula – Several more than 9 feet tall
“PRE-HISTORIC GIANTS. A splendid haul of giant skeletons is reported from Homer, in the United States. The district is a prolific field of Indian mounds, and important discoveries are continually being made there. On the 4th ult., beneath a small mound at five feet below the normal surface, five gigantic skeletons, with their feet bent, were found in a grave with a floor. Remnants of burned bones, coppe r, and charcoal were plentiful in the area, together with numerous stone vessels and weapons. The skeletons were those of verifiable giants, and no mistakes, the head of one being the size of a wooden bucket. Each of the giants must have been at least 9ft. in height. Among other striking articles in the grave was a beautifully finished stone pipe, the bowl being large and polished, and engraved with figures of birds and beasts. This is especially interesting, as showing that the use of tobacco does not always stunt growth. Beside the pipe was a huge knife, shaped like a sickle reversed, and having a wooden handle held by leather thongs; also a kettle holding about six quarts. It is said by those who are most competent to give an opinion in the matter that this is by far the most valuable find of giants ever made in America, and probably one of the oldest. It is a well-known fact that the bones of elephants, rhinoceri, mastodons, and other huge animals have before now been exhibited and accepted as proof of pre-historic giants. The presence, however, in the grave at Homer of the pipe and the kettle is conclusive proof that the skeletons are those not only of genuine but also of genial giants.”
The amazing discovery of giant skeletons in Homer, United States, reported in the newspaper article, provides an exciting insight into the prehistoric world. The measurements and eyewitness accounts of the professionals present at the excavation suggest the skeletons were of verifiable giants. The frequency of above-average heights, with each giant being at least 9ft tall, further highlights the significance of this discovery. The skeletons were found in a grave with a floor, accompanied by remnants of burned bones, copper, and charcoal, as well as numerous stone vessels and weapons, providing evidence of an ancient civilization.
What is particularly intriguing about this discovery is the presence of a beautifully finished stone pipe, large and polished, with engraved figures of birds and beasts. This raises questions about the use of tobacco and its possible effects on growth, as it was previously believed that tobacco use could stunt growth. Alongside the pipe was a huge knife with a wooden handle held by leather thongs, and a kettle holding about six quarts, all of which suggest a complex and developed society.
The discovery in Homer is one of the most valuable find of giants ever made in America, and likely one of the oldest, demonstrating the potential for further discoveries in the future. While bones of large animals have been exhibited before as proof of prehistoric giants, the presence of these artifacts in the grave at Homer provides conclusive evidence of genuine and genial giants.
In conclusion, the thoroughness of the measurements and the professionalism of the eyewitnesses involved in this discovery suggest its importance and potential significance for our understanding of the prehistoric world. The frequency of above-average height and the presence of complex artifacts in the grave further highlight the existence of a developed and advanced civilization. This discovery represents an exciting opportunity for further research and exploration, and we look forward to seeing where it may lead us in the future.
