In the days of Emperor Claudius (41-54 A D) there was brought to Rome an Arabian giant Gnhnra who Is said by Pliny to have measured nine feet nine Inches la height None of the giants of more recent record have had quite such a stature although the English marvel John Middleton born la Lancashire la the reign of James I was nine feet three inches tall An AU8tran Joseph Wlnkelmaler who was exhibited about Europe In the ’80s was eight feet nine lnchea tall and there have heen quite a few others who have approached this height
