Blackfellow’s Well Over Seven Feet

Giant Blackfellows

Australian aborigines were once noted for their size, and most of the men half
a century ago stood well over 6 ft. The height of those who lived hundreds of years ago must have been tremendous,
as is shown by their remains which may
be dug- up almost anywhere along the
River Murray. They are often to be found in rows, each one including half a dozen or more complete skeletons.
Generally the jaws are huge and square, and though they are all loose, every tooth is present. The average height of these men must have been well over 7 ft.— M. G.
