The discovery of Indian mounds near Valley City on the Sheyenne river, reported in the Jamestown Weekly Alert in 1900, adds to the growing evidence of a Mound-Culture of Giants that existed throughout America. According to the report, some engineers surveying the area for the Northern Pacific railroad examined the mounds and found a large number of Indian relics, including some giant skeletons. Bones and relics were boxed and shipped to St. Paul, but the native Indians knew nothing of the mounds or their history. These findings support the idea that there was a population of giants in America that has been largely ignored by mainstream academia.
