Amelia Island Seven foot skeletons
By the measurements of the bones the person to possess them must have stood over 7 feet tall. Another item that was found was a giant stone axe in whom its discoverer exclaimed that it was the largest he had seen in his professional career.
The placement of the bodies were quite odd: The skeletons were in a seated position facing the east with their knees tucked close, and their legs bent under, and the arms crossed over their heart.
The location was the the most southern point of Amelia Island, Florida. Amelia Island is a place i go to frequently on a personal note, it is only about 40 miles from Jacksonville 38-43 depending on the route taken. I plan on doing more research in this area and maybe replicating some of the artifacts in question.
These discoveries were made by Dr. R. Harrison in the winter of 1848.
