On lot #25 beneath the entangled roots of a Maple tree, were found the bones of a man of great stature, which had a full double set of teeth in his mouth. This skeleton was located on the farm of Jacob Heath of North Sandy Creek along the north bank there lie the remains of an native structure overgrown now by large trees. stature Jefferson County.
The town was first settled around 1803, near Lacona. Sandy Creek was formed from the Town of Richland in 1825.
The town has a total area of 46.5 square miles (120.5 km²), of which, 42.3 square miles (109.5 km²) of it is land and 4.3 square miles (11.1 km²) of it (9.17%) is water.
The west border of Sandy Creek is Lake Ontario and the north border is Jefferson County. The only description is that the man was of great stature, but details are lacking. More information on this find is necessary, it is quite possible that there are more articles on this find locally.
