You may say what is the big deal about a 30 inch Femur?
“the Guinness Book of World Records 1990 listed the estimated length of Robert Wadlow’s femur as 29.5 inches (75 cm). Wadlow stood 8 ft 11.1 inches tall in life.”
On June 27, 1940 (eighteen days before his death), he was measured at 8 ft 11.1 in (2.72 m) by doctors C. M. Charles and Cyril MacBryde of Washington University in St. Louis.

- The guiness book states incorrectly: “The tallest man in medical history for whom there is irrefutable evidence is Robert Pershing Wadlow”
- The Tallest Man website incorrectly repeats this: “Robert Pershing Wadlow was a man who, to this day, is the tallest person in medical history for whom there is irrefutable evidence.”
This same statement is repeated over and over by academia. Robert Wadlow is far from the tallest man in history in fact height is usually calculated by the femur length, however it fails the taller the individual. If Robert being 8 foot 11 and a 1/4 was tall, then the owner of this 30 inch femur was taller than 9 foot. This is one of my favorite pieces of evidence there are plans to recreate this femur and display it at the Greater Ancestors World Museum.

A normal man 5 ft 10 inches tall has a femur 18.9 inches long.
A femur 30 inches long would be appropriate for a man over 9 feet tall.
