The Morristown (East Tennessee) Gazette of the 26th says: Some parties in digging in a cave near Clifton, Cocke county, in search of minerals, have exhumed a human skeleton of giant proportions. In height it is fully seven feet. It was walled up with stone, and from the surroundings it is supposed that it must have been placed there hundreds of years ago. There were a large lot of curiously carved beads, of ivory or shell, found with the bones. It is a considerable curiosity and well worth preserving.Source: Public ledger.
