CHEHALIS IS EXCITED Reported Discovery of an Immense Cave in Lewis County. TACOMA, Wash., March 7.-The town of Chehalis is excited over the reported discovery of an immense cave in the eastern part of Lewis county. Exploration was made a distance of five miles, revealing strange and wonderful sights. After entering a lower passage beneath the main cavern, the explorer came to a subterranean lake. Upon the pebbled beach were found boats of ancient and strange make, some petrified, others partially so. In one of the small rooms of the first cavern were found the remains of two human beings, both giants in size; the man 7 feet 10 inches long, the woman a few inches less. Both bodies were reported either frozen stiff or mummified. Hammers and drills of brass were found. The elaborate work must have taken years and was apparently done ages ago by a prehistoric race. Commentary:

The reported discovery of an immense cave in the eastern part of Lewis County has caused great excitement in the town of Chehalis. According to reports, exploration of the cave has revealed strange and wonderful sights, including an underground lake where ancient and strange boats were found, some of which were partially petrified.

Even more astonishingly, the remains of two human beings were found in one of the small rooms of the first cavern. Both were giants in size, with the man measuring 7 feet 10 inches long and the woman slightly less. The bodies were reported to be either frozen stiff or mummified.

Hammers and drills of brass were also found, suggesting that the elaborate work required to create this cave system must have taken years and was apparently done ages ago by a prehistoric race. This discovery raises many questions about the history of the area and the possibility of advanced civilizations that existed long before recorded history. It will be fascinating to see what further exploration of this cave will reveal in the coming months and years.
