OKANOGAN – MAN SIX FEET ELEVEN

GIGANTIC SKELETON FOUND NEAR ALMA

Remains of Huge Animal Found while Excavating in Okanogan County — Unearth Huge Human Skeleton Nearby

Alma, Wash., June 26. – Part of the skeleton of a gigantic animal was unearthed by men working on the race track for the 4th of July. It was at first believed that the bones were those of a mastadon, but examination revealed that there were no tusks.
The head was two feet six inches long and measured 18 inches between the eye sockets. The shoulder blade was 3 feet two inches long and two feet nine inches wide. The section of the backbone found measured 11 feet eight inches in length. Great care is being taken to exhume the body in as nearly a perfect state as possible.
About 20 feet from this a body of a man measuring six feet 11 inches was unearthed.

So much  for “sensationalism!”
I almost missed this one. Much of the time if there is a mention of a giant animal i skip over the article, because paleontology is nearly exclusively about giant animals, as is this one. The giant-human-skeleton is hidden in this article it gets the last line, and barely a mention.

As so many skeptics pursue their adhoc dismissals, i commonly get the sensationalism argument, especially when the article starts with “NINE FEET TALL” as the headline. This article is the exception.
