St Clair county, Large Indian

While excavating near the banks of Bell river, two miles north of Berville, a large Indian skeleton was unearthed. The leg bone between knee and ankle measures nearly 18 inches. A number of fine specimens of flint arrowheads were found in the grave.

The average adult male Shin bone on earth is (tibia): Approximately 15 inches (38 cm) in length, so an 18″ shin bone is 3 inches longer than average. An individual with an 18-inch shin bone would be estimated to be approximately 6 feet 10.5 inches tall, assuming that their overall body proportions are similar to those of an average adult male. That is about 1 in 42,000 people.
