KINGWOOD, W, Va., Nov. 12. -A human skull was unearthed here which measured 40 inches around the forehead. The skeleton is supposed to have been 14 feet high.

Not a Mammoth, let’s rule that out as option. The article states that it was a human so we should give the article the benefit of the doubt unless there is absolute evidence otherwise. It’s easy to discern a human from a mammoth or  giant sloth skeleton for that matter. The difference is discernable at a glance the mammoth attempt at a giant rebuttal is lame. The largest skeleton found in Florida is from Vero Beach (a 12 footer) Not to be outdone Georgia has a 13 footer from Brunswick. However, West Virginia’s 14 footer is quite impressive. This is too small an article for so big a story.
