Na-han-lo

The Choctaws preserve a dim tradition that, after crossing the Mississippi they met a race of men called the Na-han-lo. tall in stature and of fair complexion, whom had migrated from the sunrise.  They had once been a mighty people, but were then few in number, and soon disappeared after the incoming of the Choctaws. This race of men, according to tradition, tillers of the soil and peaceable.

This sounds like the Vikings, the Vikings traveled throughout the  North American continent many were described in the same way . “tall in stature and of fair complexion, whom had migrated from the sunrise.
These people most likely came from the land of Greenland, as their pillaging into the North American Continent became fruitless from the lack of spoil and the Indians most likely put up quite a resistance. However the land was bountiful and the beauty of this place most likely caused them to settle in and make this new land home. It is most likely that the Indians saw these large white giants as a threat, maybe even mistaking them for the mound builders. Despite the peaceful claims of the Indians, they were very territorial and kept these lands free of any foreigners and migrants.
